Shiksha Mandal’s Bajaj College of Science, Wardha, is one of the most craving destinations for education in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. The Management, Shiksha Mandal is committed to offering quality education. Since its establishment, the college has broadened its horizons, offering various skill enhancement courses, post-graduate and doctoral programmes. Today, more than 1700 students are availing quality education at junior college, undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral levels in the institute.
The college was the first institution to be accredited in the entire Vidarbha in 1999 and recipient of three stars (***) by NAAC. Thereafter it was again the first to be re-accredited in 2006. It has been accredited by NAAC with the prestigious ‘A’ grade with CGPA 3.21 in 2014. This is the very first college in entire Vidarbha that underwent the third meticulous cycle of accreditation. Prior to this achievement, the college has already been honoured with a status of College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) by UGC, New Delhi. College was also selected under ‘Star College Scheme by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India from 2013 to 2016. The college magazine won the consolation prize by RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur for two consecutive years 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Along with undergraduate B.Sc. programmes; the college has five P.G. programmes in science (Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Zoology, Mathematics). Besides, the college is running Ph.D. programmes in Chemistry and Botany. PhD programmes in Microbiology and Zoology will also begin from the next academic session. The college is also running certificate courses in 1) Herb and Herbal products 2) Clinical Laboratory Technology 3) Statistical Analysis using R (Alternate year) 4) Certificate course in Vermicompost Technology 5) Nanoscience and nanotechnology. 6) Industrial wastewater management (in association with St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai commencing from December 2021).
The college is also running an online programme (Spoken Tutorial) at our ICT Center in association with IIT Bombay since 2018-19.
The college has well equipped laboratories, ICT Lab, Centralized Research Laboratory, Language Lab, Library enriched with more than 40000 books, periodicals and research journals. It is worth mentioning that more and more students from other Universities have started getting admitted to the college. The college has been conducting regularly national level seminars under the banner “Innervate” every alternate year for faculty and research students and conducting state level seminar competition ‘Scintillation’ every alternate year for undergraduate students.
The college has been conducting guidance classes for students for the preparation of competitive examination such as NET-SET, IIT-JAM, TIFR, BHU, NIT, etc. The college has been regularly conducting the webinars for students and faculties on various aspects of Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Startup programmes, Entrepreneurship, IPR, etc.

Significant Achievements:
The college is selected for establishing Institution Innovation Cell (IIC) by the Innovation Cell, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. The college has been also sanctioned a grant of Rs. 2 Crore from Rastriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in academic year 2018-19 under component 9 against infrastructure grants to the colleges. The college has been continuously ranked in 100 best science colleges in country from 2016 by “India Today Survey” of top colleges in the country. “Outlook magazine” and “Career 360” has also ranked the college under 100 best colleges in the country. Faculties of the college is also awarded the funds for the research projects through Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (RGSTC) promoted by Government of India.
