Bajaj College of Science was established in 1962 by Shiksha Mandal, with the prime objective of catering science education at Wardha. It is grant-in-aid autonomous college affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur and is recognized by UGC 2(f) and 12(B). It is a Linguistic Minority institution offering undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes in science. Since its inception in 1962, the college has been progressing by leaps and bounds. In last decade, college's achievements are as follows:
  • College recognized as ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ by UGC-2010.
  • College granted with ‘Star College Scheme’  by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, New Delhi-2012.
  • Reaccredited ‘A’ Grade with CGPA of 3.21 by NAAC, Bengaluru in the third cycle-2014.
  • First autonomous science college in this part of India-2017.
  • Ranked 88th in the first NIRF ranking-2017.
  • Recognised as the college component category 9 by RUSA-II and become eligible for the grant of Rs. 2 crore- 2018.
  • Recognised as Study in India center by HRD-2018.
  • Ranked 65th in India in the survey of India Today-2018.
