Internship Cell
As per the directions of Govt. of Maharashtra wide GR No. एनईपी-२०२४/प्र.क्र.११ /विशि-३ dated 5th February 2024, an Internship Cell needs to be established in the higher educational institute. Accordingly, under the guidance of the principal, IQAC of the college has formed the internship cell as under. You are requested to please go through your roles and ensure that each and every activity mentioned in the regulation is strictly followed. Formation of the cell is as follows:
Principal/IQAC Coordinator

Departmental Coordinators:
Dr. Dhiraj Naik (Botany), Dr. Kunal Kale (Biotechnology), Mr. Mithilesh Wasu (Computer Science), Dr. Mahejabeen Haque (Chemistry ), Mr. Rajendra Katre (Mathematics), Dr. Mayur Ingale (Microbiology), Dr. Mangesh Yerpude (Physics), Dr. Amol Theng (Zoology)
Student Coordinators: (Two students to be nominated from B.Sc.I/ M.Sc.I from each department. Name of the students must reach the assistant coordinators by 18th July 2024)
Role of Nodal officer:
1. Policy Implementation: Ensuring the implementation of government policies and guidelines related to internships within the educational institution.
2. Policy Development: Developing and updating policies and procedures related to internships in alignment with the guidelines provided by the government and the educational institution.
3. Quality Assurance: Ensuring the quality of internship opportunities and experiences for students, as well as monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the internship program.
4. Coordination and Oversight: Coordinating the activities of the internship cell and providing oversight to ensure that the objectives of the internship program are being met. Quarterly meetings must be conducted for planning and execution.
5. Conflict Resolution: Resolving any conflicts or issues that may arise within the internship cell or between students and internship providers.
Roles of Assistant Coordinator:
1. Stakeholder Communication: Serving as a point of contact for communication with government authorities, industry partners, and other stakeholders regarding internship-related matters.
2. Interdepartmental Coordination: Facilitating coordination between different departments and faculties involved in offering internships, as well as collaborating with external organizations for internship opportunities.
3. Resource Management: Managing the resources and infrastructure required for the effective functioning of the internship cell, including budget allocation and utilization.
4. Student Guidance and Support: Providing guidance and support to students regarding internship opportunities, application procedures, and career development.
5. Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reports related to internship activities, student participation, and outcomes for periodic review and assessment.
Role of Subject Faculty Coordinators:
1. Awareness Campaign: Conduct an awareness campaign to inform B.Sc. and M.Sc. students about the availability of internships and the process to apply for them. Utilize notice boards, social media, and college communication channels for maximum outreach.
2. Information Sessions: Organize information sessions to provide students with details about the available internships, application procedures, and eligibility criteria on 8th April 2024. Encourage active participation and address any queries they may have.
3. Application Assistance: Offer guidance and support to students in preparing their internship applications, including resume building, cover letter writing, and interview preparation.
4. Local Internship Opportunities: Prepare a list of different internship opportunities, and network with industry professionals at local level.
5. Feedback Mechanism: Establish a feedback mechanism to gather input from students who have completed internships. Use this feedback to improve the internship program and provide better opportunities in the future.
6. Online Mentorship Program: Introduce an online mentorship program where experienced professionals/alumni can guide and support students for some skills.
7. Documentation Support: Assist students in completing any necessary documentation : Internship Undertaking, Resume, Organization Outreach Letter, Relieving Letter of Student, Student Diary (Log) Recording Format, Attendance Sheet, Supervisor Evaluation of Intern, Student Feedback of Internship, project reports. These reports are to be submitted to the Assistant coordinator of the cell.
8. Evaluation and Recognition: Develop a system for evaluating student performance during their internships and provide recognition for outstanding achievements.
9. Continuous Communication: Maintain regular communication with students to keep them informed about new internship opportunities, deadlines, and any changes in the internship program.
10. Post-Internship Support: Provide post-internship support by helping students leverage their internship experience for future career opportunities, such as resume building and job placement assistance.
Role of Student Coordinators:
1. Facilitating Communication: Act as a liaison between the internship cell and the student body, ensuring effective communication of internship opportunities, application procedures, and important deadlines.
2. Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to fellow students in preparing their internship applications, including resume writing, cover letter preparation, and interview skills.
3. Organizing Information Sessions: Assist in organizing information sessions and workshops to educate students about available internships, requirements, and the application process.
4. Student Engagement: Encourage active participation and engagement of students in internship-related activities, such as internship fairs, industry networking events, and mentorship programs.
5. Documentation and Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining records of student applications, internships secured, and feedback received, ensuring accurate documentation and data management.
6. Feedback Collection: Collect feedback from students who have completed internships to identify areas for improvement and to enhance the overall internship experience.
7. Event Coordination: Collaborate with the internship cell in organizing events, workshops, and seminars related to internships and career development.
8. Student Representation: Act as a representative of student interests and concerns within the internship cell, providing valuable input to improve the internship program.
To ensure a smooth process, departmental coordinators can create an internal system for assigning students to other faculties with the approval of the department head. The faculty coordinator should stay in contact with the cell’s assistant coordinator for additional updates and communications. The head should oversee the activity and must maintain a separate file of the meetings/visits for this purpose.
